Dominican Republic: First love

2 weeks for 2 persons starting with 2.600 Eur (hotel with AI and flight included!)

We stayed at the hotel Riu Naiboa.

The advantage of the RIU hotels is that they are placed in resort composed of 5 RIU hotels.
That means you do not need to use the facilities of a single hotel (bar, table, pool, etc.), but you can go to any of them (except Riu Palace Macao which is super fancy) to drink a cocktail, eat lunch, play ping-pong, etc.
About the meals:
RIU is famous for diversity and abundance in terms of food – including fresh juices and Nutella for breakfast.
So it’s clear that you will not starve as the buffet is full from morning to evening.
2 times a week they serve a specific dinner (Mexican, Dominican, etc.) and the restaurant is decorated accordingly.
The RIU resort has two “a la carte” restaurants: a “barbecue” one and a “mediterranean” one with all sort of “stuff” from the sea.
The drinks from the mini-bar are free – in case you get thirsty during the night…
About animation/entertainment: from 10 am to 5.30 pm we have the following activities:
- Spanish curse
- Archery
- Boccia / petanca,
- Beach-volleyball
- Football/soccer
- Beer drinking contest – you have to be very careful as there are some German ladies who are “drinking all men under the table” :-)

- various competitions on the beach or at the pool
- Water aerobics
- Various festivities (you learn how to cook “paella”, you can drink rum from a coconut…)
- Dance classes: merengue etc.
There is also a mini club for children where they learn games and different songs.
BINGO is played every evening (immediately after the program presented by the children of the hotel guests) and each participant can get a little souvenir (RIU shirt, hat, bandana, bottle of rum, doll, etc.) Winners of the day’s competition are being awarded a diploma and a bottle of rum.
After bingo, the night animation starts (all kinds of shows and competitions). It finished around 11 pm. There is also a discotheque in the resort.
The resort has tennis courts, fitness rooms, ping-pong tables and probably other stuff that we didn’t discovered…
In addition, any water sports without engine (diving equipment, pedal boats, catamarans, etc.) is also free.
The carnival is organized every Thursday evening on the alley that leads to the sea. This means music, drinks, dance, etc.
In conclusion: YOU CANNOT GET BORED!
Wherever you are, there is an animation team organizing something…
Please note that all the things listed above are already included in the total price, so it will not cost you anything extra!
